Laurel Saville is an author and dog behavior consultant. She has an MFA in creative writing and literature from the writing seminars at Bennington College and is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. She's the author of three novels, a novella, a memoir, several books on design topics, and essays that have appeared in The Bark, House Beautiful, the Los Angeles Times Sunday magazine, the NYTimes.com, Seven Days, and other publications. Her latest book, How to Live with a Dog: Stories and Solutions for Humans with Dog Problems and Dogs with Human Problems, is a collection of essays about her experiences helping humans better understand, communicate, cooperate, and connect with their dogs. Laurel lives in the Pacific Northwest where she and her dog Willow spend a lot of time in the woods looking for truffles and waterfalls.
