Healthy Knees Intro to Cycling
Sunday, November 17, 2024 (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM) (PST)
Description
$40 is donation to Arthritis Foundation
Who it is for:
Anyone* in good health who wants to learn the right way to ride a bike – you don’t need to have knee pain for this! (But it sure helps).
Riding a bike is one of the best things that you can do for your knees…when you do it the right way. It is no impact and works to strengthen your leg muscles (and your heart!)
Robin Robertson, international best-selling Author of Healthy Knees Cycling, will show you how to set up your bike to protect your knees, how to sit on a bike for the most comfort (yes, there is a right and a wrong way), how fast to pedal and how much tension to add.
Allow an hour for the class - After our personalized bike fits, we will complete a 30-minute introductory stationary bike ride. You will feel so amazed at what you can do and how great you feel.
The class is held in our Ride Studio on our Keiser M3i stationary bikes. Please wear comfortable athletic clothes, snug fitting bottoms (so they don’t bind up around your legs) and stiff soled shoes. If you have bike gear, wear it! (Padded bike shorts, bike shoes – our pedals are dual toe/cage and SPD). Bring a water bottle!
You’ll go home with the Healthy Knees Bike Set Up and Comfort Checklist so you can set up your own bike at home (or anywhere else) and ride like a pro.
*Must be in good health, cleared by your doctor for exercise, and able to bend knee 110 degrees to participate. If you’ve had your knee(s) replaced, must be minimum 3 months post-op.
100% of all workshop fees will be donated to the Arthritis Foundation.
