Whatcom Artists Studio Tour - Week 2
10/12/2024 - 10/13/2024
Description
BELLINGHAM, Washington —The Whatcom Artist Studio Tour, an annual celebration of the arts
by inviting the public into the studios of working artists, returns for its 30th year October 5-6 and
October 12-13.
The free, self-guided Tour features 49 artists throughout Bellingham and Whatcom County and
offers the public a glimpse of the creative process and chance to purchase fine art directly from
its creators, affirming Whatcom County as a vibrant arts destination in the Pacific Northwest.
The diversity of artistic vision and talent throughout the region is showcased by the Whatcom
Artist Studio Tour. This event demonstrates the local civic, community, and business support for
the arts and is facilitated by the support of our sponsors, local advertisers, and individual
donors.
WAST President and Ceramic artist Christopher Moench adds that the Tour shows the vital role
that art plays in the life of a thriving community.
“Artists working in Whatcom County are an expression of the vision and creativity of our whole
community,” notes Moench. “Each creation speaks not only of the artist’s personal inspiration
but also becomes part of an ongoing conversation among all who live here about our connection
to one another and to the place we live.”
“The working artists opening their studios during the Whatcom Artist Studio Tour are inviting one
and all to engage more deeply in that conversation” adds Moench. “We say come to us, see
these works, tell us if they speak to you, weave this story with me!”
