Calling upon decades of Master Gardener and Master Food Preserver experience, Ziedrich explores over 30 little-known and underappreciated plants, sharing her expert advice on how to grow and harvest them, and providing a simple, delicious recipe for each. Organized chronologically by planting and harvesting seasons, the featured edibles are easy to grow, pest and disease-resistant, versatile, and—of course—tasty!

Linda Ziedrich writes about food from garden to table, food in history, and food across cultures. At her home in Oregon's Willamette Valley, she continually experiments with the fruits and vegetables that she grows. She is also the author of First Fruits: The Lewellings and the Birth of the Pacific Coast Fruit Industry; The Joy of Pickling, now in its third edition; and The Joy of Jams, Jellies, and Other Sweet Preserves.
